Real yield and inflation

Commodity futures portfolios provide the necessary tools to hedge against various types of inflation. Energy futures perform well when inflation is driven by energy costs, industrial metals perform well when inflation is driven by demand, and precious metals, especially gold, perform well when the credibility of central banks is questioned.
