Energy prices for US consumers have fallen by 11.3% since July

In the USA, general consumer prices rose by 6.0% compared to the same month last year. The sub-category of energy prices is rising by 5.0% over the year. The year-on-year change in the consumer price index, known as the inflation rate, currently provides a false picture for energy prices. Energy prices reached their high in July 2022 and have fallen by 11.3% since then. So far, however, the downturn in energy prices has only had a weak impact on other prices.
