Electricity prices for new customers in free fall

Electricity prices for private households are still in free fall. This is due to the sharp fall in wholesale prices. These are now at the same level as in summer 2021, and the continued fall in prices is having a dampening effect on inflation and raising hopes that the ECB's cycle of interest rate hikes will soon come to an end.
