USA banks tighten lending standards

The interest rate hikes by the US central bank, the Federal Reserve (Fed), are having an effect. Supply and demand for corporate loans is falling in order to cool down the economy. The Fed conducts a survey of banks every quarter. The latest survey results were published yesterday, May 8th. The demand for credit on the part of companies, as well as the lending standards of banks, are at the level of the recessions of 2002 and 2009.
